The challenge

Lansigt's team consists of about 170 professionals who inspire entrepreneurs to make the right considerations and informed decisions in every phase of their business. The team is driven by the joint pursuit of growth and development and relishes being a sparring partner and sounding board. They get energy from innovative solutions which continuously improve their services. Lansigt had been handling IT management in-house since it was founded in 1946. As technology continued to evolve, Lansigt's IT team was increasingly busy solving problems. End users connected to an RDS server using thin clients—in combination with laptops—to enable mobile working. Their mixed application landscape, in which legacy applications such as MLE and Muis, had to work together with cloud-based SaaS applications such as NMBRS and Qics, made the situation complex. This left the team unable to focus on the really important things: being the driving force in addressing IT issues focused on Lansigt's business. Thanks to Eshgro's Smarter Workplace, Lansigt can once again focus on future-oriented IT solutions to facilitate and inspire entrepreneurs.

The solution and the result

By choosing Eshgro's Smarter Workplace, Lansigt has been able to say goodbye to their on-premise servers and the office has switched to the cloud. Employees have access to a modern workplace in the Azure cloud, and the help desk and technical management have also been completely outsourced.

Key objectives were security, optimal performance and a modern workplace that could also handle the firm's legacy applications. Eshgro's Smarter Workplace is future-proof, scalable, flexible and gives Lansigt the assurance that their IT processes meet all security and compliance requirements of the accountancy sector.

Before the implementation stage, a strategy session was held, which included a roadmap of the journey to the cloud, and before the actual migration started, Eshgro conducted a proof-of-concept. This allowed Lansigt to see first-hand that the objectives were actually being met. During the migration, all users received a managed laptop.

A key element of the solution is the optimal integration of traditional applications within the current and future Microsoft 365 functionality. Smarter 365 Enterprise Workplace combines Microsoft 365 with Azure Services. To unlock traditional legacy applications that are not cloud-based, Eshgro uses Microsoft's Azure Virtual Desktop solution. This guarantees Lansigt the optimal functioning of all Microsoft 365 functionality within the virtual workplace, with availability on every device from laptop to smartphone, without compromising on security, across all devices. This allows all employees to work as efficiently as possible.

The Smarter Workplace also provides the desired transparency and helps the business keep a handle on costs. This allows the team at Lansigt to refocus on productivity and creating added value for the internal organization and their customers.
