HERZ Armatura supports business continuity and growth with Dynamics 365 Business Central

With a thirty-year history, HERZ Armatura Hungaria is subsidiary of a leading European distributor of valves and fittings. When the ten-person company needed deeper insight into its growing operations and a smarter way to manage products and logistics, it chose Dynamics 365 Business Central. Today,  seamless, rapid data flows and a connected business journey supports the small company’s continued growth and streamlines daily workflows.

In operation since 1991, HERZ Armatura Hungaria is a subsidiary of one of Europe’s leading distributor of fittings and installation systems across heating, sanitary applications, air-conditioning, and gas. Since 2010, the company had been using Dynamics NAV at the time for its enterprise resource planning platform. “As the solution was on premises, it was updated infrequently, and hard to connect or use remotely,” explains Balázs Marosi, CEO of HERZ Armatura Hungaria. “In 2019, we shifted to Dynamics 365 Business Central on the cloud for a more holistic solution that would streamline daily operations and provide us flexibility to grow our core markets.”

For a small company of ten persons, changing the IT infrastructure affects everyone directly. “With the help of our business solution partner, AppVision, we were able to migrate our entire infrastructure to the cloud in just one night,” says Marosi. “And when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, being in the cloud allowed our employees to work seamlessly and efficiently from home. It was an excellent and well-timed decision.”

Streamlined order flows and accounting

Today, the company benefits from full business overviews and comprehensive tracking of order flows, deliveries, and logistics. “When I want to look at stock or sales reports in the middle or end of the month, I can do it easily,” Marosi shares. “It has also been far easier to manage price changes across groups of products. That ability was particularly critical during the pandemic, given the many supply chain disruptions.”

Product uploads and reporting are now also simpler and faster. “If accounting or tax auditors request a report ahead of their visits, we can provide this rapidly, either by preparing it in house or with the help of our partner,” Marosi adds.

The shift has enabled HERZ Armatura to process double the amount of stock items and with the same headcount. “I can truly say that using Dynamics 365 Business Central in the cloud saved our business in the past year,” says Marosi. “From the ability to print invoices for clients in the office while working from home to instant product updates and seamless connectivity, it has been invaluable.”
