With its marketplace expertise and catalog of more than 13,000 international sellers, Cdiscount decided to offer its services to physical distributors, e-merchants, and sellers to enable them to grow their online business through a marketplace. To do this, Cdiscount identified the need to enhance its API platform in order to facilitate the onboarding of these new customers. So, Cdiscount selected Microsoft to support its API management and thus accelerate the company's transition into a new direction, helping it to become a marketplace solution provider through its new dedicated entity, Octopia.
How do you make further progress when you are already a European marketplace leader? To provide an even smoother user experience and enable its customers to accelerate their time to market, Cdiscount has been conducting a large-scale project since summer 2020 to modernize its API platform and its API marketplace. This is a necessary step in the context of a larger project: launching a 360-degree marketplace solution for physical distributors and e-merchants by providing access to their technology, their catalog of qualified sellers, and their logistical expertise. And it is a new step for Cdiscount, which relies on Microsoft Azure API Management.
