Dynamics 365 Business Central goes on a field trip!

Care4Cows is a company founded by Gijs Hampsink, a passionate entrepreneur who knows his business. The company offers products and advice related to milk production and how to improve it. Care4Cows is special because it not only supplies high-quality products, but also provides customers with sound and technically-substantiated advice, helping them make the right choices when purchasing liners and other milk shed parts. Everything is aimed at ensuring good udder health, which benefits the animals and their farmers. 

Care4Cows is a small but fast-growing organization with all the right ambitions. Over the course of 2020, there was an increasing need to streamline processes better. Information was not easy to find, and a lot of time was lost. They were very inefficient, and employees were always lagging behind.  

Microsoft partner SucceedIT set up a central platform for Care4Cows, based on tools from the Microsoft Dynamics 365 suite. The new platform takes care of order processing, stock management, and financial administration, integrating them with each other while also making it possible to work anywhere and record customer information in a central database.

Under its DynamicsOnline label, Microsoft partner SucceedIT set up a central platform for Care4Cows, based on tools from the Microsoft Dynamics 365 suite. The new platform takes care of order processing, stock management, and financial administration, integrating them with each other while also making it possible to work anywhere and record customer information in a central database.

The challenge

Care4Cows was founded in 2015, had a succesful start and now has six fulltime employees, four of whom work in the field. A small but fast-growing organization with ambitions galore! Care4Cows is also steadily expanding its product range and now offers 800 different installations and parts. Over the course of 2020, there was an increasing need to streamline processes better. Before the transition, the company used a simple financial administration solution, supported by plenty of actual paperwork and an unstructured collection of information across different systems. Field workers had to come to the office to do their administration and process customer orders. Information was not easy to find, and a lot of time was wasted. This was very inefficient and employees were always lagging behind as a result.

The solution

Janne Hampsink already had experience with the predecessor of Business Central, Dynamics NAV. The decisive factor in choosing Business Central was a demonstration by DynamicsOnline, showing how Business Central offers a solution with a modern look and feel while being easy to use. The integration with Microsoft365 and the way Outlook works with Business Central, for example, was another important factor when making their choice. Another advantage of Business Central is that the system also contains a vast amount of information about how things work and how they should be used. 

The DynamicsOnline consultants communicate quickly; the instructions are clear, as is the approach. The implementation was carried out completely online. Fixed price, within budget, and on schedule. In addition, we made the most of this perfect opportunity to clean up the address file and articles.

The Dynamics Online solution has brought major improvements, especially in the field. Orders can be entered directly and stock checks carried out; customer information can be fed into the system directly, and office overtime is now a thing of the past. The field staff are enthusiastic about Business Central; they find it to be an easy system with a clear layout and without any fuss. Very user-friendly. 

In addition, much has been achieved in stock management and purchasing. If you carry a lot of articles in stock, stock management and purchasing is very important for keeping an overview, placing new orders on time, and preventing you from having too much or too little stock at hand. Business Central helps you keep an overview of your stock, letting you know what to buy and when to do so. In addition, Care4Cows will soon start using a second stock location. The standard functionality of Business Central offers easy support for this, allowing them to keep track of their stock, wherever it is.
