The Cooperative Bank of Epirus is leading the social and economic development of the Epirus region, thanks to the greater efficiency and increased security of its financial services. With the help of Microsoft 365 solutions, it empowers its employees to commit to the development of local businesses and the prosperity of financial services customers.
In a constantly evolving world, the Cooperative Bank of Epirus uses the power of digitalization to foster innovation, local entrepreneurship, quality services, sustainable development, and worldwide exports. It focuses on three core values: uncompromised data safety, superior efficiency, and an unrivaled digital user experience. The bank lives up to these values thanks to its partnership with Microsoft.
Safeguarding data anytime anywhere
“The goal was to modernize the current on-premises solutions and infrastructure and potentially migrate to the cloud. We wanted to do that while protecting our people and our data,” begins Ioannis Tsavdaridis, CIO/CDO of the Cooperative Bank of Epirus.
For its digital transformation, the Bank of Epirus chose a hybrid model based on Microsoft 365. “The hybrid model does not only protect the data: it makes it accessible in real-time, from anywhere, on any device, to authorized users,“ Tsavdaridis explains.
With the support of Microsoft technology partner Syntax, the bank’s IT team was able to realize a smooth transition to a hybrid model, carefully planning the project scope, timing, and budget. The bank also bolstered its online security with advanced data analytics, which identifies potential fraud and threats through pattern detection. “Data insights help us make informed, technology-assisted decisions to prevent fraud. Also, by sharing these insights, we can better update our employees about our strategic intent. It helps us build trust and commitment,” Tsavdaridis says.
Driving efficiency to new levels
The change brought cost benefits, too. “After the implementation, we cut down our IT and operational costs by up to 70 percent, while achieving improved security, better compliance, and higher productivity,” Tsavdaridis shares.
With Microsoft Teams and OneDrive for Business Online, employees can now access documents safely wherever they are. ”These tools nurture team collaboration and customer service efficiency, without ever compromising security,” Tsavdaridis notes. “The digital workspace does not only connect humans to the data they need, it connects humans to humans.”
