For companies to meet the needs of their customers and stakeholders, business leaders create a set number of functional and non-functional requirements (Quality of Service). These requirements help product managers and quality assurance employees enhance existing products and develop new ones for their customers. Success hinges on the ability to get everyone on the same page and working toward the same goal. However, without proper tools, this process can seem outdated, slow, and prone to error. There also exists a gap in the common understanding of requirements among stakeholders, especially as requirements evolve over time and changes need to be managed.
Modern Requirements helps its customers optimize their requirements processes through automation. It is dedicated to offering all the essential requirements tools to effectively manage projects throughout their life cycles, reduce time to market, and improve project quality. The company focuses on industries like healthcare, financial services, automotive, aviation, and government, to name a few. However, they all share the need for regulatory compliance, auditability, and a solution to provide workflows.
Ready, set, automate
Modern Requirements built its solution on Microsoft Azure DevOps because of its scalability and security. It also integrates with Azure OpenAI Service for:
- A general-purpose model that can handle multiple tasks.
- Human-like content while preserving data privacy and security.
- A model with little to no training.
- Solutions and use cases that can be enhanced with OpenAI.
Modern Requirements4DevOps was designed purposefully to help both Modern Requirements’ and Microsoft’s clients in their product development life cycles by automating many functions throughout the life cycle. Additionally, Copilot4DevOps is the ChatGPT implementation of Modern Requirements4DevOps. It provides the capability to automate many additional phases in the product development life cycle that are mundane and lets users focus more on the analytical and collaborative tasks that they have been trained for.
These capabilities better align with the requirements definition and speed of the initial development and testing phases of product development.
Modern Requirements4DevOps alleviates workflow and data management pain points for its customers because all information is stored in a single source of truth in Azure DevOps. Also, this extension turns Azure DevOps into a knowledge management system instead of a record-keeping and workflow system.
Requirements engineers or business analysts, test leads, compliance leads, project managers, and project architects use this solution to provide and reuse information and collaborate on that information. This allows them to replace up to half a dozen tools that are costly to integrate, costly to support, and costly to acquire.
Alleviate the mundane
This solution has proven to be invaluable for Modern Requirements customers.
Some key areas of improvement include:
- Increased efficiency and productivity by getting more done in less time through rapid prototyping and quicker time to market.
- Faster time to realize the value.
- Ease of use, as even junior data scientists or business users can use Azure OpenAI.
- Enhanced customer experiences with a greater focus on customer-centric services and products, while utilizing feedback and trends more proficiently.
Customers can now use Copilot4DevOps to review requirements and make recommendations on how to make their product life cycles better. They can also use it to transform a work item format from user stories to use cases, use cases to Gherkin format, or from system requirements to user stories and test cases, all in any language.
Over the next two years, Modern Requirements has three product phases:
- The first phase includes transforming the functionality.
- The second phase is the ability to talk to backlogs.
- The third phase includes strategic planning with the Microsoft Industry Group.
This planning will lead to Copilot4DevOps eventually using knowledge within organizations to create better processes.
