Profisee eliminates data siloes within Microsoft Fabric

Data is a main component of any business. Enterprises rely on it to help customers gain insights across a variety of use cases.

This along with Artificial Intelligence (AI) is top of mind for organizations. Many companies think about what data and AI mean as they grow and shape the future of their industries. This leads to organizations eagerly wanting to usher in AI-led transformation to stay ahead of the competition.

However, for a company to truly take advantage of leading and innovative technologies, they first need to harmonize their data across multiple disparate sources or data siloes so it is consumable Master Data Management (MDM) delivers a harmonized data foundation within Microsoft Fabric.

Profisee is an MDM software vendor. It helps organizations match, merge, standardize, and validate data across different data silos in an enterprise, thus making highly disparate data more consumable and therefore valuable in the enterprise.

Together, Profisee and Microsoft Fabric are working to help enterprises harness the power of data with the help of AI.

Scattered data

Profisee understands the diverse data needs of businesses across any vertical.

“...Profisee is all about helping customers build a trusted foundation of data that they can leverage across their enterprise, whether it's for AI, analytics, operational efficiency, compliance, cross-sell/up-sell, [or] digital transformation. Profisee is helping customers around the globe build a solid, trusted foundation of their most important data, which is their master data.” Reed Gusmus, Chief Marketing Officer at Profisee, said.

But, when it comes to MDM, it can be challenging to know where to start.

“Typically, large organizations have many different places where data gets collected. But to use it all together at one time, which is something that's become important in the world of AI or even large-scale conventional analytics, you really need to master the data,” Martin Boyd, VP of Marketing, Profisee said.

Profisee has a long relationship with Microsoft as well as deep integration with many of its products. It's built on the Microsoft technology stack. The software vendor is integrated with Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure Data Factory, and Power BI. It also uses Microsoft Azure AI as part of its services. So, Microsoft Azure made sense for Profisee to select as their preferred cloud platform because of the added value it has for its customers.

Profisee also sells through the Azure Marketplace and is at the highest level of Marketplace revenue attainment. Profisee MDM is also eligible for Marketplace sales programs such as Partner-Reported Azure Consumed Revenue (PRACR) and Microsoft Azure Cloud Commitment (MACC). This means organizations like Profisee are eligible to help their customers scale their existing cloud commitments.

“So, the fact that Microsoft has the Azure platform to house people's data estates means that we have a strong synergy with them. But now, with the newer tools that Microsoft is bringing out like Fabric and Purview to help manage the data, we can help even more. And that's why we're very closely integrated with those products in order to drive that value for our customers,” Boyd said.

Profisee has broadly integrated with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview, and other tools in Microsoft Azure to ensure enterprises can efficiently manage their data, particularly so it can be leveraged for generative AI.

A unified goal

To build world-class data software, collaboration is key.

“We have an enterprise-class, multi-domain master data management platform, and we bring it into the Azure ecosystem, and it's pre-integrated with a lot of the adjacent technologies,” Eric Melcher, CTO at Profisee said.

It’s also important to leverage generative AI for a better MDM experience.

“But even more importantly, the result of what we do is deliver consumable data that is ready for consumption in an AI toolset such as copilots or any other generative AI solution. So, the whole focus on AI is very helpful for us. It helps us do our job, but it gives an even stronger reason why people need consumable data,” Boyd said.

Anyone working in Microsoft Fabric is likely loading data from multiple sources, so the complementary nature of Profisee MDM and Microsoft Fabric is clear.

“So, we work very closely with Microsoft's analytics products such as Fabric, Power BI, and Purview. We work very closely with them because something like Fabric really needs high-quality data that can be analyzed and used across the organization. We help make the data high-quality and consumable,” Boyd said.

Finding value in data

Now Profisee’s customers leverage software that makes sense for them and their data. This provides value to both Profisee’s and Microsoft’s joint customers by ensuring they can build and scale their MDM platforms.

Integrating with Microsoft Azure gives complementary capabilities to those companies who have already committed to Microsoft products.

“The Pet Products division of a very large global food manufacturer wanted to pull together a lot of data that had previously been collected in a lot of different systems that didn't speak to each other and didn't have common governance standards. So, they pulled together, first of all, a list of all the veterinarians that they work with across the country so they could better communicate with them, anticipate their needs, and ultimately provide better services. The second step was to do the same thing with their pet owner customers. In order to bring that data together, they used Profisee. They would not have been able to drive that kind of transformation in their business had they not been able to match, merge, standardize the data, and make it available for that program,” Boyd said.

Now, its customers can easily and securely manage data.

“Anybody that's doing data governance is going to want to do master data management. Anybody that's doing analytics is ultimately going to discover a need for better data in their analytics platform," Melcher said.

Integrating for the future

Profisee will continue to develop its MDM platform. The software development company plans to bring real AI enablement to enterprises through consumable data.

“Profisee has worked with Microsoft through co-sell motions to help identify opportunities to help their customers more effectively manage their data. At the end of the day, Microsoft wants to work with partners who not only are deeply integrated into their product ecosystem but who also make it easy to work with their Microsoft field. And Profisee is very focused on ensuring that we continue to deepen and strengthen our relationships, both on the product and engineering side, but also with the Microsoft field sellers as well,” Gusmus said.

“So, we work very closely with Microsoft's analytics products such as Fabric, Power BI, and Purview. We work very closely with them because something like Fabric really needs high-quality data that can be analyzed and used across the organization. We help make the data high-quality and consumable.”
