Cassidy, founded by Justin Fineberg and Ian Woodfill, is an intelligent workflow automation platform designed to make AI accessible from mid-market to large enterprises by connecting internal company data to specific workflows. It simplifies the secure integration of advanced AI with company tools, leveraging internal knowledge to automate tasks like customer support, lead qualification, RFP processing, and more. By deploying Azure OpenAI Service, Cassidy supports seamless and efficient automation for various business processes.

A Mission for the Masses

Fineberg and Woodfill’s mission with Cassidy is to increase AI accessibility, making it an integral part of everyday business operations. Together with the comprehensive suite of AI models provided by Azure OpenAI Service, Cassidy offers powerful AI tools that easily integrate into project workflows. This approach empowers users to harness AI’s potential without being experts themselves, thereby boosting efficiency across various industries. On top of it all, Fineberg's efforts towards AI adoption has gained significant traction, with his educational content reaching over 200M viewers, reflecting the growing interest and adoption of AI technologies.

“We are doing something special at Cassidy. Our goal is to put AI in everyone's hands. As teams rely more on automation and AI, these tools need to be easy to use. We designed Cassidy so that anyone, whether they’re technical or not, can implement effective AI automations,” said Justin Fineberg.

Cassidy’s platform has supported over 10,000 companies from the healthcare, fashion, operations, and automotive industries.

Azure AI – The Way to Go

In March 2024, Fineberg attended a Microsoft Responsible AI event in New York City—an event that underscored Microsoft’s pledge to innovate with AI safely and securely and help Azure AI customers do the same. Speakers demonstrated responsible AI best practices and powerful built-in tooling, such as Azure AI Content Safety and risk and safety evaluations, which help developers protect generative AI applications and end users from novel risks such as hallucinations, jailbreak attacks, and the output of harmful text or images. The platform also includes enterprise capabilities and controls such as role-based access, data encryption, network isolation, policy management, and model scanning so customers can scale their AI solutions with confidence. With over 60,000 customers, the Azure AI platform’s foundational reliability, privacy, and security capabilities are well-recognized and trusted in the industry. Ultimately, this led to Fineberg’s decision to migrate Cassidy’s entire platform over to Azure.

"One of the most important things for our customers is security. We prioritize this across the business. We partner with Azure because they share that commitment with us," said Fineberg.

Adoption and Real-World Impact

RVezy’s interest in Cassidy was undeniably piqued by their dedication to secure and responsible AI powered by Microsoft.

RVezy, a leader in the RV rental space, was founded on the principle that RVs are made for adventure, not for the storage unit. While many RVs were ready for their next adventure, the company wanted to decrease their response time for customer support without compromising the quality of customer service.

To address these challenges, RVezy implemented Cassidy’s solutions, which integrated their documentation and streamlined their customer support processes. This integration allowed the team to quickly find the necessary information, fundamentally reducing the time spent on each inquiry. Cassidy’s platform provided a centralized knowledge base, enabling support agents to access accurate and up-to-date information without having to search through multiple platforms. This solution not only improved response times but also ensured that customers received consistent and reliable service.

Additionally, the AI-driven insights from Cassidy helped RVezy identify common customer issues and optimize their support strategies accordingly. By automating routine inquiries and providing agents with relevant information at their fingertips, RVezy’s customer support team saved over 10 hours per week in total. This efficiency gain allowed them to focus more on complex customer interactions and proactive support measures, ultimately enhancing overall customer satisfaction and loyalty.

“RVezy is one of those customers we are extremely proud of,” said Fineberg. “They adopted Cassidy across different teams, building workflows in almost every department. This deep integration saved them hundreds of hours each month, allowing employees to create and implement these workflows without any technical expertise. It is a testament to our vision of embedding AI deeply into various team workflows and making it easy enough for anyone to build themselves. Cassidy uses Azure OpenAI Service to be able to support the various LLMs that plug into their workflows.”

Navigating the AI Landscape

In the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, Cassidy is navigating the challenges of making AI accessible to a variety of business types. The primary hurdle they face is the limited understanding within companies about the potential applications of AI. This challenge is compounded by the novelty of AI technologies, which leaves many companies unsure about how to integrate these tools effectively. Fineberg emphasizes the importance of identifying and understanding use cases for AI within different business contexts to unlock its full potential. To address this, Cassidy’s focus is the integration process for their clients, offering templates and a community-led approach to share insights and use cases. Customers can trust Cassidy as a secure AI platform that prioritizes responsible AI, as they utilize Microsoft services. This strategy aims to broaden the understanding and possibilities, making it easier for companies to discover new ways that can enhance their operations. Cassidy, utilizing Azure AI, can help them do that.

The Future of Cassidy + Azure OpenAI Service

The founders' story behind Cassidy is rooted in Fineberg and Woodfill’s shared love for the Grateful Dead and their favorite song, "Cassidy." This name reflects the personal connection that Fineberg and Woodfill have cultivated over the years. Their connection is a great reminder that the heart of AI lies in the human element—relationships, memories, and shared experiences that shape us and bring us together.

Looking forward, the founders are excited about the future growth of their company. They will continue to innovate with Azure AI to make AI more accessible and create new experiences with Azure OpenAI Service that will further strengthen their shared connections.

One of the most important things for our customers is security. We prioritize this across the business. We partner with Azure because they share that commitment with us.
