Internal business information is vast and dispersed

What do you do when you have a question? Before the emergence of the internet and search engines, our answers to this question varied widely from reaching for a physical encyclopedia to dialing a friend on the phone. These days, when we have a question about nearly anything, we type it into a search engine — and we’ve all come to expect an immediate response. 

But at companies, getting answers to questions is often a hassle because internal information is neither easy to access nor readily searchable. Giving employees easy access to streamlined company information and answers about processes, procedures, and past work histories has been nearly impossible. They simply ask Alan. Alan even cites sources with every answer, pointing users directly to the context from which the information comes.

Empowering knowledge management with Microsoft 

The incredible possibilities for information management via Mr. Turing’s platform are becoming even more powerful, thanks to their partnership with Microsoft. “Our team has reported a 35 percent increase in operational efficiency after migrating to Azure Kubernetes Service, as they can now focus on core business tasks instead of managing infrastructure,” says Aleixo. With Microsoft Cloud Development and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Alan’s capabilities continue to increase, including a 30 percent reduction in infrastructure costs, which allows the team to allocate more resources to product development and customer support. 

Microsoft Cloud Native makes sharing Alan with customers easier and faster. Together with AKS, the Mr. Turing team has seen improved response times and higher customer satisfaction, as well as an overall reduction in downtime-related revenue losses. “Cloud Native and AKS together have significantly accelerated our development process, enabling us to provide a better, more efficient service to our customers,” says Aleixo. And as they continue to leverage Microsoft solutions, Aleixo says the future is full of possibilities. “With AKS, we’re able to scale our infrastructure three times faster to accommodate rapid growth by using powerful GPU machines — ensuring a seamless experience for our customers,” says Aleixo.

“AKS has been instrumental in making Alan more relevant and useful for our clients,” says Aleixo. “Its powerful capabilities have streamlined the process of adding documents to the search results, enabling us to deliver more accurate and comprehensive search results. This ultimately results in a more effective and efficient knowledge management platform for our customers.” Reductions in downtime, as well as smoother customer experiences, also add to the reliability provided by AKS.

Unifying information systems with Azure Kubernetes Service

Mr. Turing deploys Azure Kubernetes Service to upload and process documents so that they can be added to Alan’s searchable database of internal information. AKS empowers Alan to not only collect but to understand diverse content types, from videos and audio files to websites, documents, meetings, and more. They also use AKS to build a secure and reliable infrastructure to balance traffic and establish firewalls. In fact, thanks to the “robust security features and proactive monitoring provided by Azure and AKS,” Aleixo says, “we have successfully reduced our security incidents and we are better monitoring possible security issues.” Together with Azure, they’re able to monitor rather than manually manage their systems, and establish stronger security as a result.
